[Takaans / Wooden Molds]

CREEKSIDE Gallery in Ohio in association with Global Selections LLC is the primary North American source for select hand-carved wooden molds for making papier-mâché also known as TAKAANS). They are examples of authentic sculptural folk art of various images that were featured in the definitive article titled "The Art of the Takaan" in the January, 2000 issue of Maine Antique Digest. A North American exhibition of takaan was held at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Cleveland, Ohio December 16, 2001 through March 16, 2002. A fully illustrated and extensively researched exhibition catalog is still available. CREEKSIDE and Global Selections can help you build a significant personal collection with this body of relatively unknown and, as yet, undervalued body of work. Singular carvings of recognizable quality may be purchased from us. We also offer an incentive program for group purchases of these folk sculptures. Please let us help fill your individual or dealer requirements.
