Hello,

This is my grandfather. Its great seeing this article on him. I remember going to visit him when I was younger. He had a house/shack on the banks of the Kennebec. In addition to the painting and carvings he built his own boats, took people out ice fishing, and hunting. I have many photos of him hunting and fishing. I used to fish off his dock. He also left me with a few of his pieces of art. One of which is a self portrait that he did of himself. Many of his pieces were left to a long time friend whose last name was Pinette.

He was an incredible person.

I found this article to be very interesting since this was written about my Uncle Roy, Uncle James and Uncle Hiram. They were brothers of my father's mother. I have some of the hand turned wooden ware and many of the girls in the family received a doll bed made by Uncle James. I treasure these pieces along with the memories of the visits to his home. The article brought back warm memories.

I first saw the story of Albert Wagner on May 16, 2009. I was totally captivated by his art and loved it when the camera went room to room. I would buy a piece of his work in a New York second. What an astounding man.

Ron, I would be interested in learning more about your book -FISH MODELS, PLAQUES & EFFIGIES. Could you drop me a note so I might learn more? Is it currently printed?
Thanks, David
